Acute Dialysis Quality Initiative Workgroup 7 Fluid Composition and Management
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction The composition of the dialysate and/or substitution fluid, as well as the modality of its administration, are important parts of adequate CRRT management. In particular, the choice of a buffer has elicited a considerable amount of interest in the literature. Less data are available on other components or on the required bacteriological quality of CRRT fluids. Whether the pre-dilution mode of hemofiltration is preferable and how fluid balance should be managed is also a matter of controversy.

Applications for detection of acute kidney injury using electronic medical records and clinical information systems: workgroup statements from the 15th ADQI Consensus Conference
Electronic medical records and clinical information systems are increasingly used in hospitals and can be leveraged to improve recognition and care for acute kidney injury. This Acute Dialysis Quality Initiative (ADQI) workgroup was convened to develop consensus around principles for the design of automated AKI detection systems to produce real-time AKI alerts using electronic systems. AKI aler...

The filter membrane in a CRRT extracorporeal circuit is vitally important for several reasons. Because it has the largest degree of exposure to blood of all circuit components, the membrane is the most important determinant of the circuit’s overall biocompatibility. In addition, membrane characteristics determine both the solute removal and water permeability properties of a CRRT filter. The fo...

One of the most common “non-renal” applications for extacorporeal blood purification is in the management of heart failure (HF). In this workgroup report we will summarize the existing literature concerning HF, with special attention paid to the importance of concomitant renal failure. The bulk of our consensus work focuses on the use of extracorporeal ultrafiltration for the treatment of HF. I...

Introduction The operational characteristics of the different modalities of continuous renal replacement therapy impact on the performance of these therapies. Major factors to be considered include the differences between therapies that provide predominantly convective solute clearance as compared to therapies that provide predominantly diffusive clearance, the role of arteriovenous versus veno...
متن کاملAmerican Society for Enhanced Recovery (ASER) and Perioperative Quality Initiative (POQI) joint consensus statement on perioperative fluid management within an enhanced recovery pathway for colorectal surgery
BACKGROUND Enhanced recovery may be viewed as a comprehensive approach to improving meaningful outcomes in patients undergoing major surgery. Evidence to support enhanced recovery pathways (ERPs) is strong in patients undergoing colorectal surgery. There is some controversy about the adoption of specific elements in enhanced recovery "bundles" because the relative importance of different compon...
